I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment because leadership is not a positional concept, it is a concept based on relationships.
Way too often, we have heard about corporate trainings that encourage supervisors to distance themselves from from their teams, fostering an environment of hierarchy rather than collaboration. This approach can lead to isolation at the top, where leaders feel detached from their staff and miss out on valuable insights. True leadership thrives on connection and open communication.
When leaders invest in building strong relationships, they cultivate trust and mutual respect. This not only boosts morale but also enhances team performance. A leader should be approachable, willing to listen, and eager to support their team members.
